A form three student from a secondary school in Nyeri was found dead in a toilet at the Nairobi Women’s hospital on the 24th of February after she found out that she was pregnant. The 17-year old had earlier on complained of stomach ache and vomiting upon which she tested positive after a pregnancy test. According to preliminary findings, scans revealed that the student was nine weeks pregnant.
A janitor said that he found the body hanging from the toilet ceiling after she was reported to have been missing from her bed. Police officers were then called and her parents informed before her body was transferred to the mortuary.
Kilimani OCPD, Michael Muchiri said that the matter was being investigated as none of the hospital officials agreed to comment on the matter.
This comes shortly after a form three student in kakamega from Butere girls high school committed suicide over a love triangle.
