Kenyatta university was yesterday, the 18th of march faced with a sad incident that led to a few students getting injured.

A lift broke,making a loud alarming bang, and consequently, students were running helter skelter headed to all possible exists thinking it was a terror attack.

The commotion led to people stampeding towards the exists blocking ways and in turn students decided to jump from the second and third floors to escape.

Edudemic press was able to interview one of the victims relatives whose niece suffered a dislocated left wrist after being pushed from the second floor by the crowd.. and this is what they had to say.

”She was on 2nd floor when she heard a loud bang and people started scampering for safety. She ran out but midway she remembered she had left her bag and phone. She went back for them. By then all the exits were full with people. She was pushed by fellow students from 2 nd floor. She fell on her back and with both her hands getting down first. That’s why she suffered dislocation of her left wrist and back injuries. Luckily she is of small body size.”

*Mary* has been discharged and is now recovering from the minor injury.

It is important not to go back for left luggage in such a scenario. Let’s all learn from this experience.
